Driver training and fleet risk management for businesses
Advanced Driver Services helps businesses to satisfy the Health & Safety requirements relating to anyone who drives a vehicle on behalf of the business (Managing Occupational Road Risk and 'duty of care').
This translates into driver assessment and training, advising on documentation, management policies and practices, resulting in reduced costs and protection for the business from potential legal penalties of non-compliance.
Starting with Driver Assessments, these provide the driver and the employer with a detailed report on strengths and weaknesses which may then form the basis for training recommendations. Our instructors will observe the skills of the driver (preferably in a vehicle with which they are familiar) on a variety of roads to assess as accurately as possible the driver's practical skills.
We can safely say that the vast majority of drivers will benefit from training, due to bad habits and not keeping up to date with best practice techniques as vehicles and road systems evolve.
Driver training is available at two levels: -
Gold - Advanced standard (with IAM or RoSPA test included).
Silver - Fleet / Defensive level based on advanced principles.
Both levels provide a detailed report on the driver's initial and post training standard together with an overall risk assessment. Reports highlight specific areas that require further work to enable standards to be improved or maintained.
Additionally we offer refresher and specialist courses ranging from Confidence Building to Chauffeur training and much much more, depending on our clients needs. To achieve this, Advanced Driver Services has a highly qualified team able to deliver training in cars, vans, minibuses, buses, coaches and trucks.
Courses are generally delivered on or from the client's premises; i.e. we come to you and drivers are not asked to drive to an unfamiliar location. We believe in making life as simple as possible, and the whole experience an enjoyable one; indeed fun and laughter are an essential ingredient for success in our opinion.
We also believe in the recognition of success, and delegates who achieve the desired standard are reward with a certificate and a report to help with on-going development.
Our consultancy services provide employers with help and guidance in conducting risk assessments, developing appropriate fleet management policies and handbooks, training strategy, driver development, monitoring and record keeping. It is essential that clients engage in the most appropriate training and administrative activities, and whilst driver training is extremely beneficial, the benefits can be diluted if the appropriate record keeping, data analysis and policies are not in place too.
As clients have differing needs, we provide bespoke solutions which may therefore vary significantly from one client to another. All solutions can be project managed if the client is not comfortable in undertaking this task, something which is often most appreciated by smaller companies where resources are otherwise fully utilised.
Comprehensive Fleet Management is offered as an option where the business wishes to outsource the entire function or part thereof. Our experienced fleet managers will work with you to achieve whatever level of assistance you require and depending on the precise nature of your fleet.
One-Stop-Shop for fleet managers or businesses is a concept we are now extending to include the supply of vehicles and a wide variety of financing options, plus accident investigation services.
