Greener Driving
Slowing down by 10 mph will often give around 10% improvement in economy; dropping from 70 to 50 mph for example may give as much as 25% fuel saving!

Avoid sharp acceleration and braking, you are wasting fuel.  Smooth but progressive driving is far more economic, both in fuel and maintenance costs.

Air-conditioning uses additional fuel, so consider using it by exception rather than leaving it on all the time.  Up to 2 extra miles to the gallon of fuel is an attractive thought, but don't compromise your safety by being uncomfortably hot whilst driving.

Keep your vehicle properly maintained, and check the tyre pressures regularly to maximise safety and minimise wear and rolling resistance.

If you expect a lengthy wait, turn off the engine to save fuel and reduce emissions too.
