The danger in your Sat-Nav?
Police are now warning motorists of the dangers of leaving satellite navigation systems in parked vehicles, following a spate of burglaries.
Hampshire Police in particular are investigating a number of cases where criminals have broken into parked vehicles parked in public places to steal sat-nav systems before following directions to the owners 'home' stored in the device.  Knowing that the property is likely to be unoccupied, it is then burgled.

Police are warning motorists to be on their guard against this new crime, saying people should be very wary of entering their home address details or telephone number into their sat-nav system.  In the event that the system is stolen, such details could direct the thieves straight to the owners property.  If details are entered, be sure not to call it 'home', but instead consider using a person's name or a codeword.

When leaving your vehicle along with your sat-nav, be sure to remove the suction cup marks from the windscreen too!
